Final Funding Proposal
Year 1
Maximum of $5,000 or $10,000
- 10% holdback until receipt and acceptance of interim report, along with copy of the raw data in Excel or Access format with meta-data description
- not more than 20% overhead charges
- formal agreement with conditions as specified
Year 2
Maximum of $5,000
- 10% holdback until receipt of final report and copy of the revised data in Excel or Access format with meta-data description
- not more than 20% overhead charges
- final report (thesis) submitted and accepted

Not to exceed $10,000 per project
Other Conditions:
- only Canadian universities eligible to apply, and preference may be given to proposals that directly involve a M.Sc. or Ph.D.
- any research projects that involve the aquatic ecosystem are eligible; however preference may be given to proposals that directly involve the management needs or ecology of smallmouth bass.
- geographic scope is the Ontario waters of Rainy Lake or Rainy River
- overhead cannot exceed 20%, although preference may be given to proposals with reduced overhead charges
- a condition will be included in the funding letter specifying that the recipient has the sole right to publish their findings in a peer reviewed journal, and that right will extend for a period of 2 years after successful defense of thesis, or 2 years from the end of Year 2 funding if there is no thesis involved.
- deadline for submission of full-proposals will be August 15 each year. Pre-proposals can be submitted at anytime, with the only timeframe being 2 months for the Board to review and decline support or invite a more detailed full-proposal.
